Materials can be provided with a 3.1 certificate according to the NEN-EN 10204 standard. This certificate contains the material’s chemical analysis, mechanical properties and any heat treatments applied. The chemical analysis relates to the composition of the elements in the material.

The elements for which the concentrations are measured include: carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulphur, chromium, nickel, molybdenum, copper, magnesium or cobalt.

The elemental composition of the material is determined through optical emission spectroscopy analysis (OES analysis). The OES analysis uses the spark process. In this application, an electric charge is applied to the sample which vaporises a small amount of the material.

Rottink can provide the material according to your own material specifications. If you want to know more about the possibilities we offer, please feel free to contact us.
